The seven steps

What happens, in order

Every yacht on this site is listed by its charter company through the same reservation system the companies use themselves. That is why the price is the company's, the free weeks are checked live, and an option placed here is a real option in the company's calendar.

  1. Search any dates

The weekly price shown is the company's own for that week, its discount already in. A dated search lists only boats whose company allows exactly your stay; we never move your dates to make a boat fit.

  2. Choose the boat, see the full cost

The yacht page lays the week out the same way on every boat: charter price, the obligatory extras payable at the base, optional extras you tick, our skipper if you want one, the deposit, and the company's payment plan with its dates.

  3. Hold it — a real option, confirmed by email

You confirm your email with a code, then the boat is placed under option with the charter company for you. The option has a deadline; until it, nobody else can book that week. The offer arrives as a document with every line of the price.

  4. Pay the first instalment, agree the contract

Bank transfer at the quoted price, or card with 5 % added. In My account you read the charter contract and agree it with a tick — the agreed copy is kept with the exact wording you saw. Each payment is confirmed by a document.

  5. The company confirms the reservation

With the first payment the option becomes a confirmed reservation in the company's calendar. Extras the company confirms only on request — a kayak, an early check-in — are asked of the company now and you are told their answer.

  6. The balance, then the boarding pass

Reminders arrive before each instalment is due. Once the charter is fully paid, your boarding pass is issued: the marina you board at for your week, check-in time, what to bring, the company's own terms where we have them approved.

  7. Sail — and the invoice afterwards

A person is on call all week for questions about check-in, the weather or a change of plan. After the charter the invoice is issued and kept, with every other document, in My account.

Or let us do the searching

One enquiry, a live-checked shortlist by email

Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We are paid by the charter company when you book.

  1. You send one enquiry

Dates, where, how many of you, what you have in mind, a budget if you like.

  2. The boats arrive

A shortlist from the same search you could run yourself, every boat checked live with its charter company a moment before the mail is sent. One mail per sailing area if you named several.

  3. Route ideas, and a person

Itineraries for your area follow. Reply to any mail and a person answers — we read every reply, and the quote is a conversation from there.

  4. Request the final offer

Pick a boat from the mail: it is checked once more, placed under option for you and the offer is sent — the same step 3 as booking on the site.

Questions

Before you hold a boat

Anything else: write to us — a person answers, within the working day. Payments go to Blackbird One Ltd., the company trading as Yachtco.

How long does the option last?

The charter company sets it — usually a few days. Your offer states the exact deadline, and the first instalment is due by it. If the company extends it, you are told.

What if I need to cancel?

The charter company's own terms apply, and they are shown to you before you agree the contract where the company has given them to us. Before the first payment an option simply lapses at its deadline, with nothing owed.

Who do I pay?

Blackbird One Ltd., the company trading as Yachtco. Its registration number, registered office and both bank accounts are published on the About page, and the same details are printed in every payment document.

Is the deposit paid to you?

No. The refundable deposit is paid to the charter company at check-in, in the way the company states — its amount, and whether an insurance can replace it, are shown on the yacht page.

Seven steps, no surprises

The price is the company's, the option is real, and every step leaves a document in your account.
