Yachtco respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect while you browse and book, and the choices you have.
Analytics
We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics service hosted in the EU, to understand how visitors search for and view boats. Until you accept analytics in the cookie banner, measurement is anonymous and uses no cookies: we cannot recognize you across visits, and your IP address is discarded after determining your country. If you accept, we set first-party cookies and may record anonymized sessions (with typed text masked) to improve the booking experience.
Cookies & local storage
Without your consent we set no analytics cookies. One small browser entry only remembers the consent choice you made — that is functional storage, not tracking. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Referral links
Some partners link to us with a referral code in the address (for example ?ref=example). Arriving on such a link stores one first-party cookie recording which partner sent you, so we can pay them if you later book. It holds the partner's code and nothing about you — no name, no email, no browsing history — it is never shared with the partner or any other company, and it is not used for advertising or profiling. We also record that the visit happened, with the page you landed on and the site you came from, both without their query text. The cookie lasts up to a year; clearing your browser cookies removes it.
Where you are browsing from
On every request we read your IP address once, against a public table of which country each address belongs to, to decide whether to show you the full website or a welcome page with our contact details and the way into your account. The address is not stored for this and the result is not kept.
Bookings & enquiries
When you request a booking or contact us, we process the details you provide (name, contact, charter dates) solely to arrange your charter. We never sell personal data.
