01 — Where the boats lie

The sailing areas of Brazil, biggest fleet first

One sailing area, the Costa Verde: Angra dos Reis is the base, Ilha Grande's bays the first days out, the colonial town of Paraty at the far end of the bay.

03 — The bases

Where you set off

A charter boards at the marina its company names for your week — we show that marina on every card and every page, never a guess. The busiest bases first.

04 — When to go

Season, wind and the week

Sailing all year, with the southern summer from December to March the warmest and wettest and the busiest around Christmas, Carnival and New Year; May to September is drier and calmer. Changeover days vary by company.

Most fleets change over on Saturday. A dated search shows only boats whose company allows exactly your stay — we never move your dates.
