01 — Where the boats lie

The sailing areas of Turkey, biggest fleet first

Nearly the whole fleet is the Aegean: Bodrum for the Gulf of Gökova and the Greek Dodecanese across the water, Marmaris and Göcek for the Lycian coast's bays. A handful of boats lie further east on the Mediterranean shore.

03 — The bases

Where you set off

A charter boards at the marina its company names for your week — we show that marina on every card and every page, never a guess. The busiest bases first.

04 — When to go

Season, wind and the week

April to early November, longer than most of the Mediterranean, with July and August the hottest and busiest. The meltemi blows down the Aegean on summer afternoons, strongest in July and August and lighter in the sheltered gulfs. Most fleets change over on Saturday.
