02 — The boat
The boat most people learn on, and the best value per week
A monohull sails upwind better, heels under sail and costs less than a catamaran of the same length — in the marina as well as per week. Cabins are smaller and bathrooms are more often shared.
- The widest range of all: roughly 30 to 60 ft, two to six cabins, in every price band.
- Berths are standard width, so marinas and small harbours are cheaper and easier to find.
- It heels under sail: a thrill for sailors, and something to tell first-timers before they book.
03 — With our skipper
No licence? The boat is still yours.
A skipper of ours joins the yacht you choose, from 2.100 € a week plus their food. Every card in a "with skipper" search shows the price with the skipper in, so there is nothing to add up — and the skipper needs a real bed and a bathroom, which we count on every boat, so "with skipper" never offers a boat your party would not fit on.
