01 — Where the boats lie

The sailing areas of Greece, biggest fleet first

Greece is not one sailing ground. The Saronic and the Ionian are sheltered and well served; the Cyclades and the Dodecanese are open water and summer wind. The count beside each area is today's bookable fleet there.

03 — The bases

Where you set off

A charter boards at the marina its company names for your week — we show that marina on every card and every page, never a guess. The busiest bases first.

04 — When to go

Season, wind and the week

Spring brings quiet harbours and the lowest prices; in July and August the meltemi blows through the Aegean — strong afternoons in the Cyclades, calmer in the Saronic and the Ionian — and Saturday weeks go first; September and October keep the warm sea with prices easing week by week.

Most fleets change over on Saturday. A dated search shows only boats whose company allows exactly your stay — we never move your dates.
