Notes from the charter company
- **Kymatia – Traditional Sailing in the Cyclades**
- Kymatia is a unique 50-foot traditional wooden sailing yacht based in Santorini
- offering a very different experience from a conventional charter yacht
- Extensively rebuilt and upgraded
- Kymatia combines the character of a traditional wooden vessel with the comfort and equipment required for private cruising in the Cyclades. Her gaff-cutter rig
- generous deck spaces and solid construction make her particularly suited to relaxed island-to-island sailing
- Kymatia is offered exclusively with a professional skipper and crew. Rather than following a fixed itinerary
- each charter can be adapted to the weather and guests' preferences. From Santorini
- itineraries can include Ios
- Sikinos
- Anafi
- Iraklia
- Schinousa
- Koufonisia
- Naxos
- Paros and other islands of the Southern Cyclades
- The emphasis is on **slow travel and authentic Greek island life**: sailing between smaller islands
- swimming in secluded bays
- anchoring away from busy marinas and spending evenings in traditional fishing villages and island harbours
- Although Kymatia can accommodate more people for day sailing
- overnight charters are intentionally kept to a small number of guests for greater comfort and privacy. This makes her especially suitable for couples
- families and small groups looking for a private sailing experience rather than a conventional yacht charter
- Charters can start from Santorini
- with alternative drop-off locations in the Cyclades available on request. Short multi-day escapes as well as longer itineraries can be arranged
- Base: Santorini
- Oia / Armeni
- Alternative embarkation/drop-off: Ios
- Folegandros
- Naxos and Paros on request
- **Included:** professional skipper and crew
- dinghy
- SUP
- snorkelling equipment
- towels
- Wi-Fi
- taxes and Santorini port fees
- Kymatia is not simply transportation between islands. She offers a slower and more personal way to discover the Cyclades — aboard a traditional wooden sailing vessel

Questions about Kymatia
How can I cancel my reservation?
Contact our customer service via email at info@yachtco.net. We will assist you immediately.
What is the security deposit?
The security deposit for Kymatia is 500 €. It is refundable: you leave it at the base at check-in — usually as a credit-card pre-authorisation or in cash — and it is returned at check-out if the boat comes back undamaged.
What licences do I need to rent Kymatia?
Kymatia is a crewed charter — she comes with a professional crew, so you do not need any licence to book her.
What additional costs should I expect?
The crew comes with this boat, but the charter company charges for the crew on top of the charter price — that charge and the other obligatory extras are listed on this page. Food, drinks, fuel and port fees come on top too — on crewed yachts usually through an APA, an advance of 30–40 % of the charter price that the captain spends against receipts and settles with you at the end. The refundable security deposit is separate.
What does “per week + food” mean on the crew price?
A crew price such as “1.960 € per week + food” pays for that person’s work for the week; their meals are the guests’ to provide on top. It does not mean food for everyone on board is included. In practice it works one of three ways. The crew member eats on board with you: buy groceries for one extra adult and include them in breakfast, lunch and dinner — six guests plus a skipper means provisioning for seven. The crew member joins you at a restaurant: you cover their meal. The crew member eats separately: agree a meal allowance with the charter company or the skipper beforehand, covering the meals you do not provide. There is no fixed food surcharge unless one has been agreed — with shared meals on board, the cost is simply the extra groceries, and if you go ashore for dinner while the skipper stays on board, leave a suitable meal or arrange an allowance for it. The charter company’s own terms decide what applies; any allowance it states is listed separately in the price breakdown.
When do I check in and check out?
Check-in for Kymatia is from 12:00 on the day your charter starts, and check-out is by 19:00 on the day it ends. The charter company’s rule for this base: “Return on the evening before is desirable!”
Who operates Kymatia?
Kymatia is owned and operated by Kymatia, an independent charter company with 1 boat in our catalogue. We act as your charter agent: you book and pay through us, and Kymatia hands the boat over at the base.
